Hi everyone I was looking trough my house for pennies to fill holes in my album. I found that 1979 in a penny jar. I noticed the double date first. After reading about it, I also noticed quite a few errors on both sides. Double date(79) Die clash(cocoon) Filling on leave Double back of the Queen Double front Eye(both corners), nose, mouth, throat.(clashes, fillings?) Am I missing any errors? It could look better, but I think it is a nice one to fill a hole. Edited by Jo1955 09/15/2013 6:10 pm

I have a few hundred 79's and a whole big bunch of other pennies from the 70's. I'll check out the 79's soon... but what about the other 70's? Anything I should keep and eye out for?

Nice "mortar set" and date on that 79..and it's red . We could write a book on the 79's alone... ....

Thanks everybody
Pennyman007, there is no rotation.
Devlec, what is a "mortar set" and where is it?
Is it rare to have so many "errors" on the same coin?
Thank you again

Nice find Jo1955...Some of the people here have some really nice finds when it comes to the 1979's..lots of "errors/varieties" have been posted.
Not sure of the amount of errors on one coin but I'm sure someone will help you out with this.
Congrats on the find.

Jo1955...Mortar Set is when you see extra copper standing out in the devices on the coin. ..Under her chin/neck for example on your cent. One of my older varieties book has a 'Mortar Set' 40's cent as it's cover.(if I remember correctly) Your 79 is great...
