Hi, I just opened my time capsule of a thousand coins. Working on my silver dollars I heard about the small vs large beads. Can anyone tell which these are? Also, as I am starting to go through these coins, is there anything I should zoom in on for a quick look. I have a bunch of 1$ 65s and 64s. Lots of silver quarters, dimes, and a healthy penny collection (1925 George V - 1972 inclusive). Thanks in advance for your assistance. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Based on the picture, they look like dimes to me.

Cannot tell from the picture provided. Look at the "I" in REGINA. It will point at a small bead or between 2 large beads. For a picture go to http://www.coinsandcanada.com Look under prices, dollars, 1966 Scroll down to see comparisons Good luck.

Sorry, I thought I could show them all at once, but the saving the jpg using the image enhancer removed most of the resolution to see the detail on the coins. I will upload each one separately, I guess. :-(

Look at the space between the beads. If the space is big enough to fit another bead of the same size, then they are small beads. If there is no way you could put another bead in the space ,then they are large beads. That usually works for me. I can never remember what letter is supposed to point where. No need to post every one here. You can do your own research on the site suggested by middross. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ar-1953-1986If you have a thousand coins you should buy the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins.Let us know if you find anything interesting.

ydukes. Looks to me like you've got your winter free time all planned out. Take DBM's advice and get a book or two on coins. Your Library may be a good place to begin. Lotsa luck... you'll need it if you become hooked on coins.

As some have said, C&C is by far the best & easiest to use, even for us southerners.
