Found this penny searching a 1962 mint bag of pennies

Can someone tell me if this is an error? And if so what type of error?

its not an error that I recall from 1962. I think it is some sort of acid or damage to the coin post production of the coin. most errors from 1962 aren't like this. do you have more than one of these in the bag?

Looks like PMD to me.Maybe it was at the bottom of the bag and got damaged from the weight?

If it was in a mint bag, it hardly can be PMD... if it came out the bag like this, looks like a defective planchet.

Just because it came out of a mint bag doesn't mean it's not PMD. A coin can get damaged at the mint after striking.

Looks like a planchet flaw to me...

..besides all of the obvious possible "planchet flaw damage",...there is a fine DC traversing across the neck. Can't remember seeing DC's across the neck like that before.
Cool piece..!!

A lot of interesting different defects on that 62 cent.
