Hi everyone, I just got this one today. And while I may have overpaid a bit, I really like the looks of the obverse.
However, I am a bit stumped as to the Emperor. Is it a Tetricus from the Gallic empire?

It is indeed, Tetricus I. Nice bust.

bobbyhelmet- thanks!

However, I am a bit concerned about the reverse. Any advice as to how to approach this matter? And is the blue corrosion verdigris or something else?

These often have weak reverses, I'm pretty sure the obverse dies were changes 4 or 5 times more often than their counterparts. Your coin may have left the mint in not much better condition than it is now.

The reverse looks like it might be a good idea to drop the coin into some distilled or de-ionised for a while. The dark areas may be the result of past bronze disease and the green its return. I decent soak should sort it out and minimise any further damage (if it is indeed BD).

The blue might be the start of Season cracking - attack on the bronze of the coin by Ammonia producing Tetraamine Copper(II) Sulphate with Sulphurous gas in the air. Sitting it in distilled water wont help but it will help with any chloride ions elsewhere which could develop into BD.

Reverse is PAX AVG.

Interesting to see the misspelling of the name.

echizento- Yeah! I thought so too. So I almost wondered if it was barbarous.
