I know that this coin/medallion is in rough shape, but if anyone can help me identify it, I would be much appreciative. Thanks

Welcome!
Any background information on this that might help? Where was it found/bought? Size?

Wait, don't bother!
This is an 1834 Hard Times token of W. P. Haskins of Troy, NY.

Still would be interested to know the circumstances of where this was found, though!

Philadelphian,

Thanks so much for your help. A friend of mine and I were metal detecting at his friend's farm field in Western Massachusetts when I found this. Funny thing is that a few days prior, my friend found what he thought was a 1877 silver dollar. However, after some research he thinks it is a counterfeit "trade" dollar because of some discrepancies on the coin. Thanks again for your help.
