That is really nice! Is it jewelry? What was it created for?

It was my grandmother's broach. I can still remember her wearing this when I was little mostly because she gave my brother and I each a Peace dollar. My daughter has it now.

Something I whipped up a few years ago, on a whim: Feel free to snag and use for your own purposes if desired.

SsuperDdave You are a person of many skills. How did you make this?

Quote: How did you make this? I made it in the Gimp. Started with a 1904 Morgan, wiped out the "19," cloned a 4 and relocated it to the beginning of the date. You can see signs of what I did in the field around the numbers. It was an offshoot of a comparative I did to illustrate what ebay sellers could do to alter the appearance of their coins. Here's the original Morgan - this is a different shot of the same coin as above: I did this to it in 10 minutes of work: Downsized to a "typical" ebay display size, it looks like a million dollars: It's one of the reasons I am constantly harping about the need to learn postprocessing as an integral part of learning coin photography. When you know how to do this, you also know how to see when it's been done. The alterations in my fullsize doctored image above are blatantly obvious to me.

That looks amazing SsuperDdave. Doctoring the image for your personal use is great but I would be super disappointed if I bought that coin from the doctored photo. That's what I'm always worried about when buying from ebay

messing around with some paint filters, once I get the settings just right (and narrow the coin selection) the plan was to blow it up poster size and hang in the hobby room
