Quote: I thought it was against ebay rules to list a grade in the item description if not certified by a vetted TPG. Have things changed? I believe that's still in place. Although I'm guessing that the rule would only be enforced on a complaint basis. Only NGC, ANACS, ICS, NGC & PCGS graded coins are allowed the grade header mention. We have been known to "bend" the rule with Canadian ICCS graded coins. ebay may also have eased off enforcing the rule due to push back. Also, I think Centsles (a known outfit for questionable grading) is or was trying to sue ebay for that very reason.

Hi SPP,
No plans to do any shows as a vendor in Canada this year (although I do attend at times). Possibly some US shows time permitting.

So would this coin be worth being sent away to get graded, any thoughts on final price, I am looking to complete a 1912 set and this would be a nice addition.

If coin grades au 50 or better, it's a good price, should grade it .

welp I am currently the high bidder however I figured it would be going for a lot more and I'm a tad worried I am going to have spent money I don't really have at the moment.

@godless 117 There are a number of snipers that sit on asyn auctions who don't like to tip their hand early. Like @DBM in the second post of this thread. I've seen prices double, triple, 10Xs etc on valuable coins in the last five seconds.

Quote:If I remember correctly that was an ebay dot com rule and not an ebay dot ca rule. If your coins show up on the dot com site, you're bound by the rule. If you offer shipping to the US, your coins DO show up on the global site and therefor subject to the rule. I've even had ICCS coins removed on occasion. The rule is still in effect, I just don't think it's religiously enforced.

That's strange. The ebay rules also say that if you're buying an item from a different site then the rules of that site apply and not your own. IE Buyer Protection.

If you list on ebay.ca, in Canadian funds the rule of the TPG companies does not apply even if you ship to USA. If you list in USA funds, then the .com rule applies.

So the rule is not consistently interpreted by ebay staff then. This listing guideline still exists on the .ca site for raw coins. ----------- Quote: Raw coins A raw coin hasn't been graded by a coin grading company, or has been graded, but not by an approved grading company. Listings for raw coins must follow these guidelines:
The numeric grade (such as MS-65, VF-25) isn't included in the title, description, or item specifics of the listing.
No estimate of value (even if personal opinion) or reference to a price guide is included in the title or description.
The listing includes photos of the front and back of the coin being sold. Stock photos and images that are dark, out of focus, edited, or misleading aren't allowed.
The starting, reserve, or Buy It Now price for the coin is less than $2,500. -------------------------------------- Similar problem exists with listing Cuban coins. I've had one removed and was basically told that as long as it I listed on the CA site in CDN funds it's not subject to the US embargo rule. It is still impossible to list a Cuban coin on ebay irrelevant of the site or currency. Can you post a link to the Canadian version of the grading rule?

Apparently there is a asynpm on ebay selling really similar items (same seller, probably)?

There's also asynpaper, asynelite and asynwonder - all the same asyn, although the latter two don't appear to sell anything. And even the main site only has half the daily offerings it used to - wonder what the story behind that is.
