I have started filling holes in my raw WLH collection. I picked this one up last week. I would like to see what others would grade it as. In hand the strike looks incredible. Thanks for helping.

I'll call it MS-62, but looks cleaned to me...it could be the photo. Wait to see what others have to say.

Thanks for helping out. I was up to 50 or so views before the first reply came.
It was hard to get a real good photo of this one. Maybe that is why there are not a lot of replies. I keep saving a little money for a Macro lens and then another one of these comes along and poof the savings get sent out.
I was in the AU58 range for the OBV and probably MS61/62 on the REV. In hand the reverse is really nice. Bold strike and mint luster. Too bad it's not the obverse.

The photos don't show much luster which is presumably a photography issue. However, I see signs of friction in the fields and on Liberty's breast which push it down to AU-58 at best. Still a nice coin and any high-grade early Walker is very cool. This one is perfect for an album. Congrats!

Quote: This one is perfect for an album. Congrats! Thanks Jaobler. That is the plan for this one. I pick up any AU55-58 coin that I can find for my WLH full raw set. It is really hard to find good coins in that grade.

First thought was AU55. Nice pickup

I can understand why FTB said 58 to 62. I can't really make up my mind is there is any wear on this piece, so my opinion is the same as his. My apology for being be a bit nebulous.

Quote: My apology for being be a bit nebulous. No apology needed. It's not the best picture. I'm heading out this weekend to look at a Macro lens and stand. I'm in the same ball park and I have the coin in hand. Quote: Nice pickup Thanks. I have 5 other AU58/MS WLH's coming at the end of next week. I can't wait to see them in hand.

The walking liberty is my favorite set and your addition of the 1917 is a fine high grade example. May you find the 1916 coins in equal grade. Looking forward to seeing you additions.

The coin looks dipped.
I don't see any where but some rub marks on the left breast.
Details grade aside I'd go 62 given the marks to the leg areas on the obverse and the Eagle's chest and legs on the reverse.

Thanks. In hand it does not look dipped. The OBV and REV are very different in luster. I showed it to a local (very picky) dealer and he said it looks authentic to him. He graded it a AU55 to maybe AU58 so it looks like he is close to you guys. I have 5 more AU/MS coins coming next week. I will try to take better pictures of those and post them. With this I have 499 posts. Never thought I would get so interested in this place.
