Just bought this...another guy knew what it was, but I was having it. Can anyone else tell what it is? I cleaned one up a few weeks ago. 4FIZ7EiELZBSQfGvnlTw~~60_12.jpg)

Looks clipped with a three on it. Was there some ancient symbol that looked like a 3?

The chi-rho guess was right. Rotate it 90 degrees clockwise, and the "3" is an "omega", as in "alpha" and "omega" on coins of Magnentius (and Decentius). This one was cut down to resemble the sizes of the new, smaller, coins when that larger denomination was discontinued.

It is a Chi Rho, but these were cut down to a much smaller size than the official coinage - way down to the size of the barbarous coinage the guys issued. They cut up a lot of these chi rho folles - you dont find many worn because they cut them up to allow them to continue to circulate after the rebellion ended. My other one has a punch through the eye but I cant tell much from this one.
