OK, so here was the first haul, if you do not remember..
https://goccf.com/t/155806

So, not too bad, right? Well, I stopped at the same 7-11 on my way home tonight. We did not have any 2% at work, so I had to stop. Glad we ran out. When I paid for the milk, I looked in the register as usual(the people at all the area 7-11's have gotten used to me craning my neck to see their drawers LOL). In there I see a stack of silver dollars. Being the cool reserved person I am, I immediately pointed and said "I want those! ALL OF THEM! How many are there?" LOL The guy smiled and grabbed them and the gold dollars in there. I told him only the silver coins please. He then counts out 9 silver dollars and 2 halves...

7-11-Haul,-Again!-And-This-One-Is-Killer!

Needless to say, this made my day.

Me and VACookey are now going to make it a point to stop in there EVERY night and morning. It is obvious someone in the area is getting into dads collection or inherited a collection and have no clue what they have. Whatever the case may be, it works out great for us.

Or they broke into someone's house and are using the proceeds to fund their cigarette/alcohol habit. Either way, at least the coins are getting a better home than the till of a 7-11 can offer. Wish I had this kind of luck around here. I always seem to miss these by a couple hours or so.

This is so unreal to me. I mean, I would have a dream about this happening. Hard to believe that this many silver dollars can still be found in cash drawers- at a 7-11, no less. I'm glad you saved them from the "temporary" wild. Is this a record for you?

Based on the coins from your first find, it does indeed look like they are coming from the same stash. I'd be willing to bet.

This would kind of make me want to get in contact with the authorities and see if there have been any burglaries where coins have been reported missing. Cops could catch the perp at that 7-11.

Yes, this is a record for me number of coins wise. My other best 7-11 find was like 12 years ago and involved a couple Barber halves and Morgans. But not 11 coins.

When I worked at 7-11 in the early 80's, I would get Morgans on a fairly regular basis. Mercs and silver Washingtons happened quite a bit too. I am waiting for the first batch to come into the gas station I am managing now. Perhaps it is being in the Washington DC area where there are more people and higher incomes. In the last month I have pulled two low printing star notes and a 1950 ten dollar bill.

That's $200 in any coin shop or pawn shop for that matter for $9.50.

Incredible score ... congratulations on it.

Tend to agree that something unusual is going on here ... nobody of ethics in a proper state of mind would spend $9.50 in silver at face value.

Stolen ... senility ... who knows.
