Good Morning,

I started collecting 1 oz Johnson Matthey Silver Wafer Bars and 1 oz 2013 Canadian Maple Leaf coins.
I was advised to purchase only ISO Certified silver bullion 1 oz bars, coin and rounds.
Are all of the 1 oz Silver Bullion Wafer Bars, coins and rounds ISO Certifed?

Thank you.

Tyler

No. I think you mis-understand the term.

ISO - the International Standards Organization - doesn't certify anything, they define and create the standards and processes.

So the PROCESS for assaying silver purity might be an ISO standard (I don't know). And a company can be certified (by a 3rd party) for following the ISO processes. The most common "ISO Certification" is for the ISO quality processes (9001, 9002, etc.)

PS: This really belongs in the general forum, I'll ask staff to move it. No biggie!

Corporations who are certified by ISO follow strict guidelines and procedures, and in this case with refineries dealing with precious metals. They tend to avoid buying their gold from people like Cashman Loan Arranger who do shady dealings.

The word you want to think of is ethical.
