I want to put together the complete set of modern commemorative dollars in MS69/PR69. That's 138 coins to date. Any estimates as to how much the complete set may cost? I'm planning on buying most on ebay.

One factor is are you collecting slab only coins? Most modern commemoratives are of 67 to 69 quality in the original government holders. Limiting yourself to only slabbed coins will drive up your price.

Are couple are more expensive and a couple are cheaper but 30-50 dollars should be about the average cost per coin for a set of slabbed 69s

Using Numismedia value for 69s it looks like the cost is over 7K. Some of the issues are pretty expensive from the mid 90s.

You may want to consider raw in capsules or their original government packaging. From my research, you will pay much less than for slabbed. The only certified coin I have in this series is the 1994D proof-like World Cup silver dollar, NGC MS69.

I would suggest working on either an MS set OR a Proof set rather than both at the same time. By focusing your effort, you will be able to purchase more of the coin designs in the modern set and experience a better sense of accomplishment as you work through your purchases.
