Here is one of my few finds from Philly: This is a clipped contemporary counterfeit KG III. It is hard to see but it is dated 1774. It is a dug example which is suffering from corrosion.
You mean, they didn't try to claim it was a Machins Mills? Nice, for a ground find! Were they able to tell you where the ground was that they found it in? At least, what side of the Atlantic?
