This piece of the coin is hanging off the coin it is still attached but it will bend up and down. Any ideas?

That is a lamination. The silver is peeling away from the rest of the planchet. Best to keep it in tact. They are not so pretty with they fall off. Sometimes it can't be helped, but it leaves a small indication of the missing device under the peel.

Small premium unless they are huge on the coin. On a cent you may get 50 cents to a dollar for one that size, depending on interest on them. But on the one I posted there is high demand for ones like these. I don't know much about silver dollars, I'm a cent specialist.

I suggest trying VAMworld on Wiki, those guys may be interested because it is different. Never know.

The coin in that condition is worth melt but will probably get a small premium?
Also it is an error, the lamination is not considered a VAM. though every Morgan has a VAM classification, they only have to do with the dies themselves not the planchet
