I have 5 mint boxes of the LP2 2009 pennies.
The dates are all 4-22-09 which is right in the middle of
the double thumbs and other doubles.
They do not appear to have appreciated in value very much so I was
wondering if I should open them and sell them individual or just wait longer.

Not sure but I suspect millions of other people hoarded those too. If I were you I'd try selling them.

You could open them, search them, put an Indian on each end, recrimp them and sell them as unsearched like so many on ebay do.

No immediate need to sell, I was just thinking they would have increased more by now.
I guess they have a million double thumbs
