I know exactly what that is. I was going to buy it but I'm holding out for a nice one.
Minted by augustus, it commemorates the defeat of the conspiritors who killed Julius Caesar (if I remember correctly, this is the point where Octavian defeats Brutus). VIC AVG - Victory of Augustus. Shows a statue of Victory. Its this point that Augustus gains full control of Rome with those pesky guys out of the picture - this is basically the start of the empire and the end of the republic proper.
EDIT: Fixed some Crass language.

This coin was struck to commemorate the battle of Philippi in 42 BC. Struck circa 12 AD.

The battle of Philippi was where Augustus defeated the assassins: Quote: The Battle of Philippi was the final battle in the Wars of the Second Triumvirate between the forces of Mark Antony and Octavian (of the Second Triumvirate) and the forces of Julius Caesar's assassins Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus in 42 BC, at Philippi in Macedonia. The Second Triumvirate declared this civil war to avenge Julius Caesar's murder. Both Cassius and Brutus commited suicide as Octavian and Antony's armies cut down their men.

It is going to get an extra big label with the whole story. Fabulous to have a coin with such history attached to it. If the battle was 42BC then would it have been struch 41BC or later?
Edit: Sorry, missed the info, struck 12AD.
