Ya it would be cool to go through it before bidding !!

after bidding to the reserve which has not been met at above 7000.00 ,,I think the disappointment would be unbearable and the daisy would not be a daisy any longer.

So can I borrow $7000? I'll give it back I promise. Do you take post dated checks?

Sure, but it has to be dated sometime this year!

I haven't found a really good collection lot in a long time. The last one I purchased was for around $1000 and we made a couple hundred on it. That was 3-4 years ago. Now, there's so much garbage to wade through in the Collections/Lots category that it just takes so much more time and is very aggravating!

If there were any treats in this lot they would be in the forefront of the pics ,, the best I see is a well worn CC morgan ,, but I may have missed something ,, and the franklin folder is closed ,,whats inside ? the rolls are end shots ? except for the new dollar coins .

I guess I'm just a skeptic ,,I can't help it .

I've been taking an occasional look through the collection/lot section myself, hoping for a nice deal in the few hundred dollar range. Everytime I find something that I think is worth bidding on, someone outbids me. It seems that there isn't a lot of quality in these lots in general. There are definitely some nice coins in this one, but hard to tell how much is good, and how much is mainly junk.

I LOVE hodgepodge auctions! I look once a day for new once listed. I normally just bid face/silver value for everything because it's an easy return if it's mostly junk.

My search criteria has about 30-40 Negs (ex: coin -this -that) to weed out all the garbage. So far my best yet is a bulk lot that I paid $213 and face/silver/gold value alone was $350. Selling everything individually will be worth around $500 I hope.

even if only 10% of the weight is silver then we are talking about $6000 melt if %20 of the weight is silver then $1200. but its a gamble either way and there would be no real way to tell if the pile was pilfered after the closing bid.
