It's a good idea had they done it in the first place. It's a big **This is a family friendly forum. Keep it that way. You've been warned** to do it now and declare a limited 1200 sets worldwide.

Exactly!! but they done this before, they repackage the o'canada series and give it a paper box. LoL. If I buy all three of these coins from mint, I would bombard them with phone call and emails.

I feel badly for anyone who bought the three coins separately but I'd say they have a snowball chance in Havana of getting the box now. The mint clearly have at least 1200 of each of the three coins left. If they give previous buyers a box, they no longer have 1200 sets to sell as part of the new offering. Thus they don't solve the problem of getting rid of the left over coins. That aside, this is a very troubling direction for RCM marketing to take. What's next? Undermining the value of a customers collection is IMO about the worst tactic they could employ. Yet here we are. I've been getting more and more turned off but the hobby as a result of the Mint's actions recently and this latest maneuver might just be enough to push me away entirely.

Truly unbelievable tactics by the Mint, if anything this encourages buyers of less popular coins to hold off their purchase or return them until later on in the year....

The people with a representative should show him their feelings with regard to this kind of "release".

Don't get me started about the bald eagles. If they are indeed sold out, I hope I don't find a complete set in a nice box.

The only reason the Mint for offering the coins in a set is unsold inventory. Someone at the Mint came up with the brilliant idea of repackaging the coins to get rid of the excess inventory.

It is sad that our mint is following the footstep of the Perth Mint. Remember the Perth Mint issued a "2012 High Relief Silver Proof Four-Coin Collection" in the 4th quarter of 2012, that angered a lot of collectors. Granted that Perth Mint actually minted more coins to create that set (because that set was release before they refined their definition of mintage), while RCM just repackage the remaning stock without increasing the actual mintage, but the effect is similar.

That maybe but they should atleast give out boxs to the ones who bought all 3 directly from the mint as they would have the info on file. We shall see I guess, I know I will be calling looking for one. If they would atleast make just the boxes available to purchase/order then maybe it wouldn't be so bad .

I agree with Northencoins here. In this case will be right for RCM to send a box to customers, who bought all 3 coins from mint prior this day only. But, although this politics of re-packaging is "fishi", the Mint, as any other manufacturer has full right to pack their products as and whenever it wishes to do it. Re-packaging it not the same as "re-mint".

True Silveriod and if they call it a limited 1200 only set then the chances of getting a extra box are slim to zero...sadly. I guess you would have to buy another set to get the box lol. I will still be on the phone giving them a hard time..spent thousands there this year all I want will be one lousy box.

Quote: if they call it a limited 1200 only set then the chances of getting a extra box are slim to zero May be....but I want to believe, that they know how to manage with the replacements (for all their products), and have a spare box. Or: take it as possible idea - if they will refuse to send just a box, ask to replace all 3 coins for the set.

So maybe the single gold coins that were sold first will go up in value now ...I mean you wont beable to get them with the CoA in the clam shells and the outer black sleeve with the info on it , not that the clams shells are hard to get but the single CoAs will be and the sleeves with the date/info etc .. I guess it depends on how they put the set together.. maybe you get all of that stuff with them and you put them in the "box" time will tell I guess.
