I had previously posted pictures of my 1892-S Morgan, but here's 2 more in different lighting. Let me know what you think!

Thanks, the big thing I am cautious about is the toning/coloring around the date and stars on the obverse. How likely would that cause a details grade?

Low grade MS due to being totally dipped out. :(

What exactly do you mean by dipped out? You think a cleaning grade?

No, I think the surfaces are just fairly stripped which really hurts its value. I'd say 61 or 62 max.

Is there any cartwheel luster on it? As FadetoBlack pointed out, the surfaces don't look completely original.

That's a look I see from point-and-shoot sensors with overworked lenses and undersized sensors; I'd draw no firm conclusions about the surfaces from these images. The last set was much better. For future reference, codemahn28, please add a second set of images to the previous thread rather than creating a new thread.

If you send this coin in, as long as it comes back authentic, it is a score. I have a NGC AU53 92S and this coin looks a lot nice than mine. It looks to have mint state detail, but it might be thrown in to the "slider" category and go AU58. Even if it does come back with "details" it is what it is. It is still one of the toughest Morgans to find in AU+ condition. Nice Coin.

When holding it in person, the reverse is nothing to worry about because there is plenty of cartwheel luster, but the obverse shows much less. Although there is some cartwheel, it is not as prominent. An AU53 or higher would sure make my day without a cleaning detail! Thanks to everyone for their opinions!

Well here's something new. My grandfather (who I acquired the coin from) said that it was previously graded MS60 Details Cleaning by ICG. Now I'm stuck between keeping it raw or sending it to PCGS and getting another cleaning grade. Any new opinions on the odds of getting a details grade, now knowing it's been graded before?

Told you the surfaces weren't natural. It will definitely get a code 92 if you submit it, and probably UNC Details cleaned label.

Your pictures are of a coin on ebay right now that is still in a ms60 details ICG slab.

Quote:Your pictures are of a coin on ebay right now that is still in a ms60 details ICG slab. He's got a point there, codemahn28. Heck, you even used the auction images in this thread. And the seller claims the same small home town as you do in your profile. So, what might you have to say in response to this revelation? I should mention that whatever you might want to say, you'll have to do so in an email to admin@coincommunity.com, because I'm going to lock your account as soon as I post this. We don't care for people who do us this way. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1892-S-Morg...em3cd7543959
