RCM Proof sets, each year, from 1981 to 1990, at issue price... I should have spent my teenage dollars on Apple stock, or even just a high interest account (remember what interest rates were back in the 1980s)...

I bought a 1946 Canadian silver dollar when I was still very new to collecting...it was cleaned/polished and I had no idea at the time. A few years later with more experience in collecting, while looking through my collection I realized it. I was thinking about selling it, but I don't want to scam another collector it's just not right.
My second would be the perth mints 1oz silver proof dragon 2012. I woke up the day of release and it was sold out. I ended up paying over $350 for it 2 weeks later and when It arrived I was not blown away. And as most know by know the perth has fallen from where it once stood. There must have been 15 or more different new dragon designs after the fast sellout of the proof series. Some companies don't look at the long term picture and they pay the price for it in the end.

Regret? I guess paying 24 and 25 dollars for the 1999 and 2000 quarter sets way back then kinda sticks in my side; they're available for 10 or less now. Of course, I might change that opinion had any of my sets had the mule coins. I don't really regret buying them but they certainly were grossly overpriced and probably the first really big marketing success for the RCM.

Every coin that I bought after checking my collection twice and then immediately finding it tucked away in a drawer after finally making the purchase! (this just seems to happen more and more frequently the further I get past 40!) Oh yeah, and that basement slabber 'low relief' 1951 25c that turned out to be a high relief when I got it under a microscope (and knew what I was looking for) a couple of years later. That was an expensive lesson....

A couple of lucky loonies my wife bought off ebay. The packaging smelled so badly of cigarette smoke that we wouldn't dare put it with our regular collection. We tried for a few weeks to unsuccessfully get the smell out and ended up selling to a local dealer for half of what we paid. I suppose we could have tried to return them to the seller but didn't think of it at the time.

The 2 glow Dino's #2 that I paid $60 ea for. I will be lucky to get half my in investment back. It's such an ugly coin. Oh an 3rd Dino, but I got it from the mint.

@PocketChange50 I saw this exact coin discounted for $25 last weekend! http://www.boutique-tpm.com/index.p...duct_id=8328I just can't believe how the first one could have been so popular. I love dinosaurs as much as anyone but this collection is just plain ugly. Your post made me remember reading a review of a "frustrated" customer on the RCM site where he wrote he was just dissapointed that the skull of the Queen wasn't "glow-in-the-dark". Priceless!

5 penny set.
Haha. Just kidding. This is my best set so far. In fact. If I don't like a coin, I will not buy it. (Candy cane for example). I love all coins in my collection. Nothing to regret. Cheers

I regret buying the Queen Mother silver dollar and Medal of Bravery enamel silver dollar at high prices ($350 + $250). I didn't realize the issue price was so much lower until a much later date! Now I just buy at issue price, if/when possible...

@ the curse interesting site, I hope this isn't a trend that starts. I will need to check the 3rd Dino maybe it has a defect, so I can return it to the mint. @ silveroid my son isn't impressed by either Dino, he thinks they're ugly, he likes my color wildlife and ocanada half Oz collection. Unfortunely I don't know any kids under 10. My sons gang are all teens. I grabbed two of second Dino, because I feared they were going to be more expensive, and I'd never seen a gitd coin before. It wasn't as impressive as I had hoped. I bought the 3rd thinking it would help to sell the two I had. I do like this design better. It would be impressive if they'd do a sabre tooth tiger or a wooly mamoth, some of the bigger more impressive prehistoric creatures. The second coin is totally bad.
