I was watching an auction for the coin below with a great deal of interest, since it's part of my collection, and thought this might make for a good topic of discussion. The aforementioned auction ended at just under $700 earlier today for a 2009 $5, nearly 1-ounce, coin from the Cook Islands commemorating the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing. As an aside, this particular coin has an authentic moon meteor flake sealed within it.

This isn't actually my most valuable coin, I'm guessing. That's probably my Mongolia 2007 500 Torpor- Wolverine Wildlife Protection Gulo Gulo Proof, which once sold at auction on ebay for $2000 back in 2012, although I'm fairly certain the price has come down several hundred dollars since its peak.

I bought these coins as a package deal back in 2009 when silver was circling the drain. Both pieces sold together at auction on ebay for a cool $100. I wonder if the seller kicks himself when he thinks back at what he had and how much each coin has appreciated over the last few years? If it were me, I probably wouldn't dwell on it

Anyway, that's my selection for (one of) the most valuable coins in my collection. What's yours?

My coins are all worth nothing over spot I think. If my 70S proof Kennedy grades over pr65, it might be worth over 20 bucks.

My most valuable coin is very boring, I'm afraid. 2012 Half Ounce Gold Maple Leaf.

Current spot price of gold is about $1300 per ounce so my coin is worth $650 + small premium over spot.

Absolutely no idea I'm afraid, price is only important to me at buy/sell points so I don't keep an eye on such things inbetween.

Nice topic, sorry I can't add to it. Least valuable would have been easy .... about $2 lol.

All kidding aside, while I dont want to get into specifics, and list it all out I will say the Buffalo proof series from the start of it is a center piece for me

Some lovely coins being posted here! Both my most valuable ones are British.

My most valuable silver coin is my 1847 Gothic crown.

My most valuable gold coin is almost certainly my 1822 George IV gold sovereign. My largest gold coins are two US half-eagles - I don't have any huge bullion-type gold coins.
