I just got these in this morning.

I'm very pleased. These 3 coins cost 14.57 to the door.

Wow. Those are strong strikes and a slamming deal at $14.57. How's the reverses? The 1910's, for the record, are quite undervalued and rather rare in Mint State, with roughly half the pops of 1911's in equivalent grade.

The reverses are as nice as the obverses .. but I'm not so good with this Fuji Finepix camera. There's too many settings that I just don't understand. I used simple little Kodak easy share cameras for a couple years and did so-so with those, but after dropping the last one, I decided I wanted something with a larger lense....something that was more like an SLR.

Here's a couple more images. These were taken indoors using led lights.

I always wonder how it is that coins like this lay around for 100 years. They weren't in holders, and apparently weren't given any protective care such as a collector might try and provide.

These came out of South Carolina, which adds to the "why did nobody ever spend them" question. I buy coins from Italy and Germany from time to time, and it's easier to understand how those coins can be circulated very little, if at all. I'm waiting for an 1859 Indian Head cent to arrive from Italy that has vestiges of mint luster around the perimeter and devices. That coin was only 66 dollars and change including postage, and might be a better deal than these.

It was a very strange listing. The gallery picture was that of the reverse of a low grade coin sold in a previous listing. The seller had used the previous listing as a template, and never removed the "old" picture. His description of the coins was simply: Liberty head nickels 2 @ 1910 good shape 1 @ 1911 good shape.

"Good shape" is something of an understatement.

Those are very nice and would definitely look out of place in my low low low grade V nickel set (not by my choice but by my budget)

Congrats.
