According to the Presidential dollar act, 1/3 of the dollar coins produced are supposed to be Sacagaweas. Based on this I was expecting them to release 2007 Sacs into circulation, but it hasn't happened.

Up through May the mint has produced

621 million Presidential dollars
7 million Sacagaweas

My 'cypherin shows they are 300 million short. If things keep up through the 3rd and 4th presidents, we're going to be missing half a billion Sacagaweas.

How are they allowed to go against the law? Dag-nab it - I want my Sacs!!
What's up with that?
Rest in Peace

Possibly shouldn't say this but GOOD. I don't like that coin so if missing, GREAT.

I find the concept of Sacagawea being lost somewhat comical. ;D

I find the idea of paying the mint more than face value for a business strike coin ludicrous. I really was hoping they would release the Sacagawea into circulation again given the wording of the legislation. Maybe they are holding out until they sell as many as they can through their website.

Hey the Sacagawea is the favorite coin of all of Ecuador!!! And, of all the recent failed dollar attempts, it is my favorite as well. Look at the value of a set at this time (Unc. and Proof) and tell me they are not a strong modern day coin! And, for what it is worth, I picked mine up from my dealer as I know I will never get the keys to the secret Sackie warehouse.

Yup, I, too, have a full set (unc and pf) and I think they're kinda spiffy.
And, if they don't mint all that many, think about how much your grandchildren will get when they sell them. :)

My daughter has a full set of proof and unc in a Dansco Album and that is one nice looking set.
