Ok heres the scoop....

I know where this is from and why, but it seems nobody has the truth on what this medal is made of and its weight!

I have looked and found everything from 999 to 925 to 560.... with weights from 20 grams to 1 ounce.

how about someone weighing in on this topic?......please?

It looks like a product of the Medallic Art Company of New York. Likely made of silver if it is. Did you look on the edge of the medal? just a guess here.

The medal you've displayed was produced by the Metal Arts Company of Rochester, NY (vs. the Medallic Art Company).

It is one of nine medals that were struck by Metal Arts for the Exposition; they struck silver and bronze versions for sale. (A limited number of gold sets â€" four, I believe â€" were also struck for presentation purposes.)

The silver medals sold for $112.50 per set, the bronze sets were $28.50. I believe the medals are 0.999 fine, but I'll have to get my set out and confirm the fineness and weight. I'll update this post within the next day and include the design themes for the other eight medals as well.

Thanks for the original pricing info, Commems. I wonder if the nine-medal sets were sold in the Capital Plastics holders as pictured below?

... and I believe this cheap clasp holder is how the smaller 34mm bronze "Official Space Needle Medal was sold separately:
