First off, when you say 'folder', do you mean the folding cardboard ones with the holes half-cut out? And is an album the 3-ring kind with pages with holes cut all the way through with the plastic inserts?
This has been discussed many times in the past. So many people mistake Folders for Albums. Yes a Folder is just that. A thing that folds and has no protection for the coins except when it is closed. One of the problems is you can not see both sides of the cois. Next is the worst part. You normally push a coin into the slots with your thumb leaving a nice print on the face of the coin. On a Proof coin this looks really lousy. Next is how to get them out. Again, you push from the rear and sometimes push a hole right through. When a Folder is open, the coins could be attacked by your fingers, a sneeze, a cough, spilled drinks or even a fly or some other insect in your house. The worsst part is that shinny stuff on the rear of the slot. That is glue left over from the manufacturing process.
All the above is why you should use an Album.
