Hello, I have a question about PVC content in Dansco 7000 album pages. I can't find anything that says they don't have PVC, and are often described as being vinyl. I also know there are a significant amount of people that use these, with no ill effects by what I hear. Is there PVC in the pages? Does a good 2x2 flip keep bad things from happening?
Thanks

I know that the slides are made of acetate, but as for the actual album itself containing PVC, I don't know.

I'm mostly wondering about the actual pocket pages. http://www.danscoalbumstore.com/coi...-p-8691.html is the product I'm thinking about. I had some very bad experience when I was younger with PVC being in coin storage material. I have some ruined Newfoundland silver and ruined large pennies as a result of coins that I bought in holders with PVC, so now I may be paranoid.

Didn't even know that Dansco made those, but I guess it makes sense. They are meant to hold the coin inside of another individual holder, and then placed in the page.
As long as the individual holder is made of mylar, you will be fine.

Sounds good, thanks for your input. I like the look of the albums, and I'd like to somewhat standardize how my coins are stored.

I have several of the 7000 albums containing some miscellaneous and all of my dark side coins. I have never had a problem with any of them. All coins are properly enclosed in cardboard-Mylar 2x2 holders. You can read some more information starting here... https://goccf.com/t/157391&whichpage=2#1466571

Yes, Vinyl contains plasticizers (PVC) which improves it's performance characteristic and makes it more flexible. Over time vinyl materials usually get an oily feel. If the coins are in air tight 2 x 2 holders, they should be okay. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyvinyl_chloride

Just to be clear, PVC is not a plasticizer. Plasticizers are what are added to PVC to make it soft. PVC is normally rigid, like that used with your plumbing.
The added plasticizers are what make the PVC (vinyl) unstable and bad for coins.
