Hi I found this in a old penny roll that I got from the bank.

Every penny in this roll was a Wheat cent.

Is this a mint Error? I personally

Is-This-A-Die-Error?-On-This-1944-Penny cant see how anyone could have done this to this penny.

If I hold it up to the light at the right angle it is almost as if I can still read the word "States"

Could this be worth anything?

Thanks

I'm tempted to say that it's struck through, but then the "STATES" wouldn't show through. Perhaps a hot welding spark landed on it or something?
