Hi
I'm having trouble determining how many berries this half penny has, can anyone help?

Thanks1806-Half-Penny-Berries?

Hi Garett,
to the best of my knowledge there were only 3-berry and no-berry varieties, with I'm sure clogged die issues to compliment!
I'm not at my desk now, but can always check Peck tomorrow for anything extra/unusual to this suggestion!
However, it's unlikely to be anything other than a 3-berry reverse of an 1806 HP, bearing in mind it looks to have berries on it!

Thanks ElizabethTudor, I have looked at a few images but the branch on the right looks different from what I have seen, hence my trouble.

Problem solved, you've got a penny NOT a halfpenny. I think you'll find the leaves match those of a penny! ;-)

There were also slight variations in leaf arrangements on both the pennies AND the halfpennies, so don't be surprised if you discover some small differences.
Another point of interest Peck mentions there are numerous variations in ship design! Happy hunting!

Thank you. I was told it was a half penny but did not check out the size/weight and you are correct, it is a penny.

I can recommend Collectors coins GB 1797-1970.
For about £6 you will get Peck/Freeman/ESC nrs plus sizes of coins and weights,
mintages and most differences illustrated.
Also new varieties recorded.
IE a proof reverse on a currency 1806 1/2d.
OK it is no substitute for Peck/Freeman/ESC but it is about 40x cheaper.

The main difference for 1806 pennies is on the obverse, but you are trying to differentiate between minute details in the hair detail which might be impossible in that grade.
