If any bank around me ever had halves that weren't already spoken for I could participate in this poll. Every time I ask I am told they have already been bought.

@whywing and bassmaster - you guys can't have your banks order you coin? most of the banks around me don't "stock" halves but they certainly allow you to order as much as you want basically @stampvirgin - I didn't think that was a viable option as most CRH's go through thousands a week and to keep all of them months in a row would exhaust most middle income earners checking accounts!

All 3. Mostly roll, but dump 25-30% in coin counter. Spend 20$ per week. Roll because its quickest coin to roll, my bank gave me 3 whole boxes of 1000 wrappers, and I need the room in my bucket to dump all the other coins I search - which I don't roll

My bank requires me to roll large amounts of coin,so I have no choice unless I spend them.

You need to add dumping them off in the 50 lb bags and sending them off to the vault. This way is by far the easiest way to dump halves and is what I do.

i spend most of mine and its amazing how many cashiers don't even know what a half dollar is and never heard of them. a lot of them think they are dollar coins and don't even know how to add them together like if I'm spending six half dollars together..i see some cashiers don't know what to do with them and see some throw them in with their quarters in the quarter slot..i bet some have short drawers.so I'm educating these teenage cashiers in my area there are more than 4 coins that the mint makes

so I tried going to BOA to dump 2 50lb bags of halves and it was the WORST experience I've ever had with dumping they made me take them out and put them into 4 smaller bags and each one needed a slip/receipt/blah blah blah and it took me like 40 mins at the bank!
anyone have a better idea of what to do? who is just dropping off the 50lb bag w/ a grand of halves in it pain free? ?
