 Prince Edward Island, 1 cent, 1871 These circulated alongside Canadian large cents until 1920 when the denomination was discontinued, so most are pretty worn. The three oak saplings represent P.E.I's three counties, the big oak is Great Britain. "Parva sub ingenti" - "the small beneath the great". |

Germany [Prussia] along the edge of the coin it says "Gott mit Uns" or "God is with us"  [text copied from Coinquest.com] Quote:
'Sieges Thaler' means 'Victory Thaler' and it commemorates the victory of Prussia and several other German states over Napoleon III of France. This war was a primary driver to the unification of the many separate German States into the German Empire under Otto Von Bismark in 1872. Edited by Spott

An Italian 5 Lire, coined in Milano in 1871. During the first few years after unification (1860's), Rome was what was left of the Papal States and its territorial integrity was protected by the French Empire (Napoleon III).  |
