Crowns were only issued for 2 years in Australia, 1937 and 1938. Apparently they weren't very popular because of their size. The 1937 had over a million minted and is therefore a lot cheaper than the 1938 which only had 101,000 minted. The catalogue price on a EF 1937 is $60, whereas the 1938 will set you back $275 in the same grade. Composition is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Weight 28.27 Grams. Size 38.5mm  Edited by triggersmob

Knockout toning on that cent, great work BadThad! Many early cultures have words for 'one' and 'few' and 'many' but don't worry about other numbers, I can see how that may be the influence for the Russian plurals. Here's a 'few' shots of 'one' Pretty Lady!   A Walker in the Clouds  |

1937 British crown:  This coin used one of the reverse designs that Kruger Gray had prepared for the unissued coins of King Edward VIII. |

my first silver crown, albeit still a commemorative one...  about 410000 minted IIRC. personally, by reason of content purity, I'd fancy the Australian crown of the same year more, but that doesn't make this coin any less handsome |

A couple of medals from Great Britain both dated 1937, but I'm unsure of the actual year of mintage.   |

Belgian nickel 5 Francs (Leopold III). 1937 was the last year large nickel 5 Francs (31 mm) were minted.  Withdrawn from circulation after a few years, this coin is not very common. |
