Being that a proof is made for its aesthetic qualities, does having obvious signs of die clashing make it worth more or less? I just picked up a 2001 ASE Proof that has strong die clash markings.

More. This kind of coin is rare and therefore worth a lot.

Will post some tonight when I get done with the hobgoblins (due to a windstorm last night they postponed Halloween in my area)

Yes, they are very rare and do command a nice premium. I currently own 2 proof die clashes and have seen maybe 6-7 others. They tend to look very strong because of the mirror fields without the distraction of luster. This would be the first that I have seen on an ASE! Please post pictures!

Sorry for the late post...I just forgot to snap some pics! It proved very hard to capture what I think is a polished die after a die clash. The two Images are the same, but I circled the area in question. You can only see a small region of it, but in fact it covers most of the field. It looks like wing feather outlines all through the area. Is MUCH easier to see in hand.

Th angle of the camera/light is obscuring the clash. Try a different angle to eliminate that shadow

Here is an overlay so you can see what a clash would do to the field area of the obverse: From coin fishing DVD 2013It maybe part of a clash or part of a polishing that you are seeing. I'm thinking polishing as the edge if not strong in that area.
