A well-known fake type... If this was a cleaned (genuine) coin, you'd consider this a pretty good recoloring:

This particular seller is well known for selling modern fakes, have reported them in the past.

Yes, the toning does no seem all that unconvincing. But I lack the knowledge to spot this right away as a counterfeit.

This one, a 'scarce Santiago 8 reales' he sold a while back is even more darkly toned.

Yup, that one looks like bleach, as well. Bleach turns silver nearly black in color. The patina is pretty thin, so some rubbing on the high points will give it that circulated look.
