As a Barber dime enthusiast I'll offer a humble opinion. The characteristic to focus upon is the rim to letters ratio. (The same characteristic is useful for other series as well.) The key phrases are 'rim touching letters' and 'rim wearing into letters.' By this criterium, the obverse legend "United States of America" can be graded good until look at 'America' which fails by just a hair. Especially the letters 'eri." Oddly, the reverse is an overall good, if the top is equally warn.
I have always suspected that Pennsylvania was among the last places to find Barbers in circulation. Certainly during the 50s and early 60s. But in 2013 - a minor miracle!
