I was just thinking about these and I have a few questions.

1. Will the "S" mint coins continue for the duration of the ATB series?

2. Will the "S" mint continue to strike circulating quality coins after the ATB series ends?

3. What was the reasoning for the San Francisco Mint to resume business strikes? Was there actually a need to strike more coins than the Denver and Philadelphia Mints could produce?

1: Most likely.

2: Possibly.

3: The U.S. Mint hates Dansco Corporation.

There was a need to justify the continued existence of Mint bags and rolls for a circulating coin series, best served by creating a (mintmark) variety of Quarter that would be distributed exclusively in Mint bags and rolls.

Could you imagine the size of the mint sets if the mint decides that San Francisco will make all denominations?

1- yes
2- ?
3- $$$ if the mint makes it ..someone will pay a premium for it ...these "S" minted quarters are only sold for collectors.. not for general circulation ...

Don't forget West Point - next step is to have them minting basic (1c through 25c) coins with mint marks for special sets.

Not for general circulation is true, however that could change. I think the mint could make some serious cash off this.

Too bad we can't get random distributions of Kevlar ballistic pallets full of "S" Quarters to various Federal Reserve branches.

Perry's Victory "S" roll (WD5) is the first 2013-S Quarter product I've seen with a delayed shipping date (11-20-13). Will this be the first 2013-S BU Quarter product to sell out?

They did it as part of the 75 year anniversary of the San Fran mint. It was popular enough that they kept on doing it. I dont see why they would not keep going with it.

And Dansco loves this. They make more money putting out new books/pages.

As long as the Mint is making money, what will stop them from continue? We (me and some of you) are sucker to their program, even when it seemed like they don't really care about what we think/want.....

I unleashed a few of these ATB S mint quarters into circulation. They were flawed extras I had.

Will the "S" mint ATB Quarter be included in the 2014 uncirculated mint sets and the 2014 ATB uncirculated quarter sets. If they are circulating coinage, they should have been included in 2013 as well.

I didn't know about this until now.

So now there are FIVE varieties of each ATB Quarter? (P, D, S, S-Proof, and S-silver proof).

Mo money, mo money!

Just a point of interest. These coins have the actual S mint mark on them so putting quotes around the S is not necessary. Thay is used for the ASEs know to be struck in San Fran or West Point but dont actually have the mint mark.

I've finally put in my order of 1 roll/design for this year.

I also bought the Mint & Proof Set + Uncir Half Dollar commemorative + the GB Puck.

I will come back in a month and buy 1 more roll of each..... My goal is to buy at least 2 rolls/design of these -S quarters.
