The changeover to plastic is this week.

I went to the local branch of my bank and when I ordered a bundle, they gave me a circulated bundle :(

Would the head branch at King and Bay in Toronto have these bills still available in uncirculated condition in bundles? Or is it too late to order them now :(

I work at Walmart and was able to secure 2 bundles of uncirculated $5s from the cash office. The wrapper showed they were ordered in May and fresh from the Bank of Canada but unfortunately they were not entirely sequential. They would be sequential, then jump 10's of thousands ahead and be sequential again. :(

The bundle was missing one digit from one of the sequential blocks. And as such, when I counted the 2 bundles, I only had 199 bills. :(

Is it possible for the Bank of Canada's machines to accidentally shortchange a bundle?

Generally they don't short change a bundle... but the do sometimes skip and not go totally sequential.

I would recommend that when you go to your bank(s) and tell the head teller or business teller and tell them what you're looking for. Sometimes they'll even put one or two aside for you.

I have placed an order at several banks for a few bundles... I have found there is no fee when you request a couple bundles but when you order 10 or 20 bundles they will also charge you a premium.

You will probably still be able to get paper bundles well into Dec. as I don't think they're phasing out the old bills like they did with the 50's and 100's... I think it will be a slower progression like the 20's..
