I would go with the proof set as long as there are no problems with it.
The morgan could be a good deal but without anymore information I wouldn't buy it.

Given the cash and the choide, the Franklin in the proof set would be compelling, but the Morgan would probably be my pick if it had good eye appeal

$30 Morgan dollars are common. You have multiple years to choose from and that price will leave you with a common date - possibly circulated coin worth $30...

The 56 proof set is unique and they are in limited quantities... if you want to buy - that's what I'd buy.

Morgan dollars in common dates are as common as 1964-D nickels. The '56 isn't exactly scarce either. How about saving your money to make a better purchase next time.

I am taking a shot in the dark at this, but I would go with the proof set.

Also to the community.

If the Franklin is DCAM go for the '56 proof set, if the Morgan is an 1878 VAM-44 go for the Morgan. Anything else all I can say is "it depends"...
