One of the 1955 wheat pennies that I have put aside has a strange raised..what appears to be a crack in the coin..or a mark from a crack in the die...

Is this from when the coin was minted or has age or something damaged this coin?

I would need some more pictures from another angle but it looks like a lamination error where the planchet had a defect.

And 1 last picture.....

If it is a lamination or planchet defect, any idea on value or non-value as it may be :)

Thanks

While laminations are technically errors they generally are a detriment to value. Buffalo nickels are famous for their laminations and they almost always lower the value of a coin. Your Lincoln Cent is an interesting example but probably isn't worth much. That being said, however, it is a cool circulation find and is worth keeping even if just to show as an example.

Nice educational pieces, but rarely bring more than a buck or two. Only really a detriment to value when the coin would otherwise have value. For a common circulated Lincoln Cent, it would add value, but only nominally so because these are very common.
