Hard to tell from your pictures but it appears to be mid AU. TPG's are pretty tough on these.

If there is wear that I missed them 55 otherwise 61/62. I don't really see any luster.

Looks like a textbook AU-50 (maybe 53) to me.

It seems to be around an AU-53 or 55. A 53 seems a tad more likely because of the discoloration around the date.

Keep in mind this coin has never been professionally cleaned.

AU 53 to 55 ....like about 99.99% of all 84-S dollars out there in coin land.

I'm going to agree with the mid-high AU opinions given, for two reasons:

1) There's a sharp difference in contrast/luster between broader and narrower areas of the fields; it's most noticeable on the obverse image at the E and M, where the most-direct lighting plays on the fields. That, and the stain on the date, are things which happen in circulation.

2) This is one of the very rarest Morgans in Mint State condition. A $250 coin in AU55 becomes a near-$10,000 coin in poor Mint State condition, yet AU's are quite common. With these somewhat-small images preventing a certain opinion, one defaults to the most common probability.
