Does the mint have any intent to do this kind of medal/set for any of the other Presidents? WHere would one find that kind of information?

Southern - the mint hasn't announced any so far. The fact that Teddy was a big contributor to numismatic collecting and was a primary force behind the National Parks system is probably a big reason many of us wanted him honored, and are glad the mint did so. The fact that the mint broke the seal on issuing presidential medals in silver...might lead you to believe there will be future silver medals issued.

Know this... if they do a C&C set for Eisenhower next year, I will most definitely be getting it without hesitation! As for the Roosevelt set, well, he has now moved from wish list to cart. Decisions, decisions.

jbuck, look at it this way: There are less than 10K of these set sold and the selling pace had been around 500+/- set per week.... I am speculating that this set will have the LOWEST population of all the special set issued by the Mint. Beside, you can't go wrong with a set that has both modern (the $1) and classic design (the silver medal) all in one.
Wait, if I want to keep the final population low the I should tell you NOT to buy this set..... what am I doing?

How long will they offer this because the 9/11 medal was around for awhile so I don't know if the mint will discontinue this at the end of the year when they move onto the 2014 Coin and Chronicles set but anything is possible with the Mint.
I really liked the job the Mint did with the 5 Star General's Set and for under $60 it looks reasonably priced. I also haven't seen any negative reviews from people so I have also placed this one on the wishlist.

I'm glad I got one. When will they stop selling this one?

I hate to be on the other side but I did get a few of these and, although the packaging is great, the set just didn't do anything for me...maybe it's because the only coin in it is a $1 coin....
The silver medal was kinda blah...

For the silver medal, I'm not sure if they reused the master die or some how the design doesn't have that deep relief.... may be it have not attracted more buyer. Also, because it's a silver medal and NOT a silver coin, many people either don't care or is not on their high priority list. Another aspect is that the set was not listed in neither "Medals" or "Commemoratives" section but at the bottom of "Special Collectibles" section, so not many people know or found it.
This can be a one-off set, a sleeper set, a "black swan", or just fade into the corner..... only time will tell.

Ok - mine showed up today and I am quite pleased to have it. I'll say for the price it is well done, and the enclosed chronicle of Roosevelt was excellent reading.

Thanks for the input people. I looked for some other opinions on this one and saw a really negative review on another site that complained that the silver medal didn't have as much low relief as the previous 3" US Mint bronze medal. Well, I'm expecting it to be more like a coin than a medal so I don't think I'll be disappointed. I think the set at $58 is reasonable priced because you get 1 oz of silver plus a proof and a bronze medal in what seems like a nice presentation case.

I am sure you will like it. Congrat on the shipment. The mint seemed slow in making these sets. However, the packaging quality seemed to be good.
