In my ongoing effort to organize my collection, I have a stack of coins I am thinking selling.

I look at CCF auction and see mostly "pocket now" auctions.
Is this the preferred method?
Don't members like bidding against rack other?

It is hard for me to come up with fair prices, maybe I should try out ebay.

I guess iam curious what members think about the auction here.

I have bought both pocket it now and auctions from CCF, With pocket it you get the coin right away, with auction you have to wait till the last day.

Why don't you try a couple of auctions and see how it goes.

I would recommend pocket it now. Its easier for the buyer that way.

I think most use the Pocket It Now thinking bidding will be low on an auction (not the same audience size as ebay).

However, you can always list it as an auction with a start price that makes you comfortable. If one person bids and wins, you are good. If more bid, bonus.

I agree. In my opinion, the only real advantage I give PIN is that the sale is immediate, no need to wait for the auction to end.

Give CCF a shot! You have nothing to lose but time (listings are free).

I hope this helps.

A LOT of time. Of course, I prefer the old thread system. Personally, I have almost completely stopped selling because it takes FAR too long to list multiple items because of the poor image support. To list 10 items takes me well over an hour of painful dinking around.

Good thing we have no desire to ever be known as a "good" place to come and sell coins, eh? "Good" places to sell coins only attract people who want to buy and sell coins. That's not what we're about.

Then go sell on ebay and pay the fees.... and it will take you even longer to list the same 10 items.

Thank you all for the input.

I think I will try one each, auction and PIN, and see what happens.

Well done.

By the way, that 7070 auction is going to go through the roof. I can feel it.

I have always used pocket it now. I get my price, if not I still have my coin. I have been able to sell coins here and not get fleeced by ebay costs.

Is there a way to link the post in the sales promotion section?

From the Email I am getting, I think some members are not seeing it
or the pictures I posted.

Not sure what you need here, GR58. Looking for a listing of CCF Sales in the same area where we list all members' ebay and Ecrater stuff? I'm curious how people are missing your auctions - all they have to do is click the "gavel" icon above every one of your posts, and all your offerings show up nicely for me.

If I just click on all auctions, and click on the one I set up today for the 7070.
All I see is the one picture of the album cover. I was thinking it would be good to
post a link of the post in the sales promotion section, so membesr could see more pics. For the members that were just looking at all auctions.

I did get a Email asking about the condition of the album, from the questions I can see they were not seeing all the pics I posted.

I have since figured out how to put the link in to the auction listing, and did so for the State Quarter album I posted. But to late to do so on the 7070, because it has a bid and the edit function is turned off.

I am in no way complaining. I am sure if I do enough auctions I should be able to figure out all the different options.

Thanks again for all your support

From what I can see, the auction goes by the site clock and east coast time.
