I'm the one who is dreaming. Although I know its a step waayyyy too far. Wouldn't it be fun to own one of these( one is being sold locally and I had a look at it close up). Heres an example on ebay:

The lens can't focus to infinity but who cares! The real problem with that lens I don't think it could actually photograph a whole coin! I suppose using one to photograph coins would be like driving a Rolls Royce to the local liquor store...unless that store happens to be Fortnum and Mason.

If I'm going to spend that much money for a camera (and I did) I'm going to get one that can double as my vacation camera.
I've got two lenses, one micro (Nikkor's term for what we call macro) and one zoom.

Also you'd need an override for autofocus.
For slabbed coins autofocus "sees" the surface of the holder and the coin often ends up slightly out of focus.
