I mark these harder than others because they are my favourite non-silver US series and I like them to be absolutely perfect even though most haven't aged well or have problem. I also think it was cleaned at some point, but that's not very unusual. "Original" surfaced CuNi coins are usually that "bright." Plus you can see a darker patina around the devices.
