The second coin from my trip to the dealer today. Does she make VF? There's a test for you in these pics.

Looks like she didn't take off her cold cream for the picture. I'd say VF35 but I'm new to the Busts. I failed the test for I see none.

I think you have a nice VF35 there. A shade to much wear for EF in my opinion. On the obverse the ear is well defined, the clasp is clear and some of the star centers are still visable. On the reverse there is still a lot of feather detail and the sheild lines all appear seperate. My favorite series, in my favorite condition hands down. She is beautiful...even with her face cream "on"!!!!Mike

Great crust factor on that beauty. I grade her at VF, but I would bet it would holder at XF40. I am not one to offer attributions on CB50c, but the 8 in the date looks re cut at the top(I think O-115 r3) or the 8 punched over a blundered 3 (O-108a r1?). However, I don't see any cracks in the pics that are associated with these O's? (I really just buy the Overton text, so if any one has spare I would be interested. Preferably the 3rd Ed.) A great example of an earlier die state lettered edge. I only wish I could find quality stuff like that locally. Nice pickup.

I think it's a nice VF30. I just love the way these coins tone! I agree that she would probably slab for a little higher (35 or 40). Nice going on the attribution, Benji. I am sure that you are correct with your O-115 attribution, though I can't see the diagonal in the shield, the line connecting the olive leaf to the left wing is very clear. Great coin, Dave!!

..."the line connecting the olive leaf to the left wing is very clear."
I was wondering about that. I couldn't tel whether it was a crack or a scratch.
SuperDave, I think $60 for any original skinned, crusty CB50c is a spectacular deal!

Congratulations, SuperDave. Very nice coin. I would agree on a grade of VF+. These seem to be getting ever harder to find. Glad you visited your dealer!
