to CCF. Here is an idea of value http://www.uscurrencyauctions.com/$20notes.htmYour note may be worth a bit more because it is a star note but it could be worth a bit less because of the condition.Wait for a pro to comment though.Where did you find it? John1

You got this as a tip? Nice!
This note, when referred to by the standard guides collectors go off of is known as a Fr.(Friedberg) 1186*, which is another way to say "1906 $20 Gold Certificate Star note with signature combination Tehee-Burke". Only 10-15 of this Fr. type are known to exist with a star in the serial number. In this condition, likely $1500-$2000 or more.

I would call condition F-12, estimated value WITHOUT star is 200-250 range.
However, WITH the star is a whole nother story, Bison is correct that less than 20 exist, which shoots the price up drastically.
Get a hard protector for this immediately.

It all depends if you need the $2000 or if you want to keep a very rare bill. It's always hard for me to sell any coin (or bill) that's very rare. I love to have something that only a few people have or can ever have. I have no idea what you did to pick up a bill like this as a tip, but you must do GOOD work! If you keep it, protect it! Don't let anything damage it and don't try to make it look better. It's a great collectable! and WOW what a tip!
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

My God in heaven that is awesome. So what happened here? Did you keep it? Sell it? Send it to get TPGed?
