Hi, this looks like an old Spanish coin to me but so far I've been unable to identify it. Does anyone recognize it? Weight is 4.55 grams and diameter about 25.8mm. Thanks!!

Appears to be a crude copy of a Spanish 2 reales coin. The genuine article would be silver.

Correct. It 's a very commonly seem imitation Spanish coin on this forum. Do a forum search for "replica reyes catolicos" and you'll find numerous threads with one, like this one. I don't think we've ever been given a definitive answer of where they came from, but the sheer number of them - we see one every couple of months here on the forum - indicates there must have been some kind of mass production and mass distribution - perhaps to promote a Readers Digest book on Pirates.
