When I read the first part of the title my first thought was the seller refunded your money and told you to keep it and got very jealous lol.

Thought the gloves were a bit unnecessary given the AG3 grade, but I understand using them. Interesting how easy it was to get that one out, I had to crack a PCGS slab about 2 months back and it took me a while since I was being so careful. Haha, I cringed when the screwdriver entered the picture there.
Congrats on filling the hole... I'll get there, one of these years.

Way to go! Congrats on a complete Merc set VACookey!
I got a little nervous when the screwdriver came into play. I usually run it into my hand when I use one like that. Glad there was no blood spilled.

LOL Guys. I have never once scratched a coin doing this. I should not have said that...

Quote: LOL Guys. I have never once scratched a coin doing this. I should not have said that... You would be amazed at how many have ruined coins with pliers, vices, cutters of all sorts. It is so simple to just cut off the edges of a slab and they just open. Don't know why people just have to take chances. And with that completed set, did you notice how much time is spent making sure all the Obverses line up and then you turn the page and see about 40% are tilted left and right. As a general rule I've found about 25% of all the Mercury dimes I have, have the reverse tilted one way or the other. At one time I was trying to fingure out it tilted to the left was more common than to the right. Must be a Dansco Album. Extra spaces at the bottom of the last page as with many of theirs. One of the reasons I like Whitman. Planned so nothing extra in spaces.

carl, of course it is a Dansco. I like the extra spaces myself. We are going to fill those with error type coins. We have two very nice die cracked examples on the way. And one space will be left for the 42/1.

I HATE HATE HATE HATE the extra spaces in Dansco's, it really irritates my OCD.
