With all of the recent additions to the US type set that are not in the 7070 album, and a few earlier omissions, I have decided to use my aluminum Lindner storage tray system to accomodate the additions. I'll list the additions on a datasheet inserted into the album, assigning a number to each coin, and the coins will be stored in Guardhouse 2 by 2s.

My trays, of which there are 5, each accomodate 20 2 by 2s. That gives me room to add the earlier coins (should I happen across them) all of the western journey nickels, the Lincoln Cent commemorative issues of 2009 and the new shield design cent, and an example of the ATB Quarters and Presidential dollars....with lots of room to spare.

I'm waiting for the 2 by 2s to be delivered. Maybe they'll arrive today.

It kind of defeats the idea of having the set be "compact" ... but until such time as a more updated album is available, it will have to do. The Dansco is filled "flush" by the time you add the gold issues page, so adding more pages isn't really an option.

I didn't get the holders today, but once I get those and have it laid out, I'll take a picture or 2 and post here.

You could buy a larger blank dansco binder that holds 8 pages (1 1/4" binder). You can then move the 6 US type pages over to that (including the gold page) and that leaves enough space for a few of the dansco 12 pocket 2x2 holder pages. Not sure if that would meet your needs, but you could keep everything in one Dansco binder. So your set up would be pages 1 through 6 of the 7070 and lets say 3 vinyl pages that hold 12 2x2's each for a total of 36 extra coin spaces.

Not saying that buying a binder and additional pages isn't a viable option, but I already have the coin cabinet, and the 2 by 2s are enroute already. I bought 100 of them, which is enough to fill the cabinet.
