I cannot believe this is happening.. I suspect there was some misunderstanding, or OP might receive a bill or his/her credit card will be charged for the two new coins.

I'm pretty sure you need to return the item back regardless. It's not a 2 for 1 deal or whatever you want to call it.

Quote:Do you think I can return two coins from the Royal Canadian Mint over 6 months later because there is a crack on the plastic coin capsule on one of them and there are cracks on the plastic part of the speciment set for the other one? I have only noticed them now and they couldn't of been caused by me because they have been in my drawer, since I got them. Any information would help. Thanks! The above is the original post by Stefanos1111 I found in another thread. I just reposted it here so people reading would know why the items were going to be returned. I wonder if they would do that on a cracked 1914 $10 gold coin capsule......hmmmmmm....just kidding...

canuck1us has broken the case (pardon the pun). Stefanos1111 will receive brand new capsules and he can keep broken ones. Count on it.
Even the gent pictured above likely does not have the authority to give away coins. There is zero chance that a CSR working the phones could do that, even if they wanted to. Like I said before, it's just unbelievable.

I also think they are sending you plastic capsules. It is do it yourself to fix them up.
There is no such thing as a free lunch from the Mint.

The same thing happen to me, I could send the coin back or get a new capsule. No way he's getting a new coin and keeping the other ones.
