I see what appears to be a grey area southeast of the mintmark. It could be split plating that has exposed the zinc around the MM but it is impossible to be sure from those photos.

If your camera has a MACRO setting (usually indicated by a flower) then turn that on for close up pictures. Outside natural light ought to be sufficient.

BIO is referring to the zinc cent being struck really hard. It "ruptures the skin" of the zinc cent, and some of the coin will "leak". It may also curl some of the skin under the original mint mark to make it look like its an RPM (aka D/D or S/S.
